Lab Instructions

The scheduled prac (lab) session for this course is in CLC (47A-250) for weeks 1-9 and 13 and in 67-542 for weeks 10,11 and 12.   Outside the scheduled prac session, you can use several laboratories for this course. The Mathematics Labs 67-542 and 67-420, and the NAL labs in the Hawken building. In the Hawken building, G: drive is called M: drive.   Labs are open 8.00am – 6.00pm during teaching periods, except weekends and public holidays  There are classes scheduled in them throughout the week.  Check the timetables posted on lab doors showing when they are occupied or free.

You can use the labs any time they are not booked for another subject. If there is only a small class operating, the lecturer will often be happy if you work quietly at the back.

Use of these labs is governed by the University’s Information Technology Rules, Regulations and Policies.

Software

MATH1070 makes heavy use of several software packages. During the first seven weeks of semester you will mostly be using the mathematical package matlab. It is available in all of the computer labs which are accessible for this course.

Laboratory Work

The three units in MATH1070 each have their own prac modules; and in addition there is an introductory Matlab module for the first two weeks. (See the weekly plan). Tutors will give as much help is possible, but they will give only limited help with assignment material.

To obtain the practical for each week, follow the links below.
