Registration & Welcome BBQ

6.00pm on Sunday 6 July
Get together to welcome presenters and students.

 Opening Ceremony

9.30am on Monday, 7 July

Official opening by Dr Geoff MacLachlan, Head of Maths,  University of Queensland, followed by morning tea at 10am.

Venue:  Room 302, Parnell Building (7), St Lucia Campus.

Fish n’ Chips Night

Prof Peter Guttorp will be delivering a public lecture.

Title:  Gasp - I can’t breathe! How statistics can be used to study environmental pollution control.

Prof Vijay Nair will be delivering a talk

Title:  Statistical Inverse Problems in Network Tomography.

Fiona Steele, Professor in Social Statistics in the Centre for Multilevel Modelling at the University of Bristol.

Title: Discrete-Time Methods of Multilevel Event History Analysis

Venue:  Room 208, Building 39A, General Purpose North 3

Members and guests are invited to join the speaker at a nearby restaurant for dinner.  The participant has to pay for their own dinner.

Conference Dinner

 6.30pm on Thursday, 17 July
Official dinner for students and presenters and farewell for Statistics course. Sponsored by CSIRO, who will be giving a short talk and providing handouts and information. Banquet dinner will be provided (including some vegetarian) plus a soft-drink or juice. Thai Palace is a short 15-minute walk away. Please meet in reception at Emmanuel College to leave promptly at 6.15pm. Please RSVP to Glynnis for catering g.richardson@sps.uq.edu.au by Monday, 14 July.
