The organisation of the reading material for MN475 is as follows: 1. Make sure you are familar with UNIX and Matlab using the appropriate source material. 2. Read the introduction to html - the first part of MN475 is to get up a small blurb about yourself on the web. 3. Then read Templates - sections 2 2.1 and 2.2 - this will consist of the first set of lectures. 4. This will be followed by lectures on Conjugate Gradients - so read the Conjugate Gradient notes. 5. We will then study nonstationary methods in general - which is the rest of Chapter 2 in templates. 6. We will then focus on preconditioning - Chapter 3 of Templates. 7. Implementation issues - Chapter 4 of Templates. 8. The penultimate section is Multigrid techniques - Chapter 5 of Templates plus the Multigrid link to Germany to explore more material. 9. Finally we will consider some parallel aspects of iterative implementations - Chapter 9 from page 34 of the Parallel Linear Algebra Book.
