Hi, I graduated at the end of 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics at the University of Queensland.

It was only at the very end of this degree that I realised mathematics was what I was interested in continuing with, as a career. So after completing my Honours in Applied Mathematics in 2001, I applied to the Department of Defence, Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) for a graduate position. I have been working in Adelaide at the Edinburgh DSTO site for the past year and loving the experience. Manipulating the mathematical principles and physics theory I learnt at university to real life “Defence” scenarios has been a highlight of my work in Adelaide.

My future plans include travel and starting my PhD in Mathematical Physics in the next couple of years.
