Information for Students
The annual QAMT problem-solving competition is
open to all students of secondary schools in Queensland. The entry fee
is only $1 and there are plenty of prizes
for the winners! Students should enter through their schools.
Last year, there were $2,800 in prizes! This year, we expect a similar prize pool to be
available, funded by the entry fee and our generous sponsors.
If you are interested, ask your teacher to register your school.
All of the papers are are two hours long. The papers will consist of questions which require an answer, but working should also be shown. The problems do not usually require any greater knowledge than that possessed by good students but will need a certain amount of ingenuity and thought for their solution. You should bring their own paper; approximately 10 sheets should be sufficient. Calculators may be used.
The results will
be posted on this web page within a month after the competition is held. Prizes and certificates will be awarded by the judges.
