Postgraduate
Seminars Information [top]
This page contains details
of upcoming seminars by postgraduate research students in mathematics, at the
University of Queensland.
Postgraduate seminars are
currently held most Fridays at 12pm. Notices for the next talk can be found
on the notice boards by the lifts in the Priestley building, and in text form
here.
All postgraduate seminars
are intended to be accessible to a general mathematical audience. Three types
of seminars are given at the sessions:
- Exit
seminars, given by postgraduates soon to complete their course. Exit
seminars should clearly display the mathematical skills and theory
developed during the PhD or MPhil.
(40 minutes + 10 minutes questions)
- Confirmation
seminars, given by postgraduates who are about to have their candidature
confirmed.
(20 + 5 minutes)
- General
seminars, given by postgraduates who are between confirmation and exit.
(20 + 5 minutes)
If you are a postgraduate
research student, please check the schedule above, and read the information on this page.
The postgraduate seminars
are organised by the departments Postgraduate Coordinator, Diane Donovan, and the
Postgraduate Seminars Convenors (currently Bo Gao
& Carly Bodkin).
