The Maths Space was developed in September 2007 for undergraduate mathematics and statistics students.
Aims:
- Continue to establish and promote a mathematics learning community, by creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for mathematics students,
- Provide a student forum, fostering horizontal and vertical student interactions,
- Promote the discussion of current research projects in mathematics and statistics,
- Further the connection with mathematics staff outside regular coursework through the set problems and organised social events,
- Encourage and inspire students with mathematics career information, and contact with potential employers,
- Foster contributions to Infinity magazine and other mathematics and SPS promotional material.
There is a blackboard site for enrolled students to access the list of current activities going on in the space.
