If you need help with any of the material, or even help with how to study for exams, then the maths department runs a FIRST YEAR LEARNING CENTRE in Room 67-641 (sixth floor of the Maths building - St Lucia Campus). This operates from 2pm until 4pm on Monday to Friday from Week 2 to the end of the first week of exams, and there will be several tutors available during these times. Appointments are not necessary; simply turn up with your questions.

 

The MATHS DROP-IN CENTRE at St Lucia is run by staff in Room 67-442 (fourth floor of the Priestley Building) from 1-2 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, beginning the second week of semester. Appointments are not necessary; simply turn up with your questions.

Practical algebra lessons: This excellent site has many, if not all, topics covered in MATH1040. It has illustrations, worked examples and questions that can be completed and checked online. Those who are having difficulty with parts of the course should find this site a big help. Students who are coping well can find extra questions for revision.

Maths for QLD 1, Maths for QLD 2, Maths for QLD 3, Maths for QLD companion website: These sites are the companion sites for the new Maths textbooks by Pearson Education. Select your chapter, click 'Go' and a range of options appear on the left-hand side of the screen. You can do a quick quiz or have a go at some of the drag and drop activities.

Mathematics in Context: This site is for the Year 11 & 12 Maths B textbooks used by some Queensland schools. There are review quizzes, some great graphing programmes (easy to use!). Click on 'Year 11/12 contents' underneath the books and find the topic you are after. Then go to that chapter and try some of the online quizzes.
