Title:           Diffraction Theory and Aperiodic Order

Abstract:

 

The discovery of aperiodically ordered solids has initiated a rigorous investigation of systems with long-range order, but no periods, with special emphasis on spectral aspects. In this talk, I plan to summarize some of the recent results, in particular on systems with pure point diffraction spectra, but also on connections to exactly solvable models in 2D.
