Abstract

A correspondence between the properties of two-qubit entanglement and the geometry of the second Hopf fibration is established.
Using the holonomy of the canonical connection on this fibre bundle, we show that the standard Schmidt decomposition can be described in purely geometric terms. Using the geometric properties of other fibre bundles some hints are given how to generalize these ideas to n-qubit entanglement.
