John Bell showed that there are some ideal experiments on entangled quantum systems for which the resultant correlations cannot be explained on the basis of purely local interactions. Despite many attempts, no published real experiment has demonstrated Bell nonlocality without the detection loophole. Recent reports suggest that this loophole is about to be closed, thus providing the first experimental confirmation of Bell nonlocality. The talk will present a general analysis of real experiments, which is significantly different from the analysis of ideal ones, with the emphasis on the detection loophole.
All interested are invited to attend.
