Welcome

Welcome to Centre for Mathematical Physics, a research centre composed of people drawn from the School of Mathematics and Physics at The University of Queensland. The centre began in 1999 and the Director is Dr Jon Links of Mathematics.

Aims of the CMP

  • To pursue and promote research in mathematical physics
  • To strengthen connections between our Disciplines and other disciplines within the University
  • To cooperate and interact with other centres, both within Australia and abroad
  • To organize an active programme of visitors to the Centre for seminars and for joint research projects
Undergraduate Mathematical Physics Course Plan

Are you interested in doing a PhD in Mathematical Physics? Then come to the Postgraduate Information Days held each year at UQ Mathematics.

Information is available on current and available PhD/Honours projects.

Ongoing Research at the CMP

  • Lie theory
  • Quantum groups, quantum affine algebras
  • Supersymmetry, supergeometry
  • Knot theory, 3-manifold invariants
  • Integrable models in statistical mechanics
  • Foundations of quantum mechanics
  • Algebraic methods in quantum chemistry
  • Quantum field theory
  • Superintegrable systems
